Cathie was raised in Philadelphia, PA. She then attended and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Art Education in 1973. Cathie attended Cosmetology trade school in Richmond, VA. She started as a junior stylist at The Main Line, one of the first full service salons located in downtown Richmond. From 1980 to 1995 she co-owned The Strawberry Street Hair Co., Richmond, VA. In 1995, she joined the team of stylists of Jerry Atkins and Associates of Richmond. Cathie became an independent contractor in 2007 at Carytown Instyle Salon. After 38 years of hair styling, 2014 brought her to her studio at the new SOLA Carytown.
