Hello! My name is Daryllynn Ford! I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2009. It all started with my love of makeup and hair straightening in college. I was attending Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts and I loved getting ready for class more than I enjoyed most things in college! So, I decided to leave and pursue my interest in makeup. Luckily, I found a makeup school in Richmond, VA where I was living, and I started the enrollment process at Makeup Artist Studios right away! I learned a lot about the industry, especially bridal and commercial makeup and styling. I had a grand time and gained certification in Makeup Artistry and Prop and Wardrobe Styling (In the media of film, video, print and bridal) and Individual Eyelash Extensions, completing the Makeup Masters program! Immediately afterward, I landed a job on the set of a pilot for the Food Network! I was a lowly Production Assistant but, I was assisting not only with makeup and prop styling but with hair as well. I fell in love. I really enjoyed the transformation makeup and a hair 'do can bring! So, I quit worrying about production sets altogether. I focused myself on becoming able to offer this transformation every day! I was going to become a Hairstylist! I researched cosmetology schools in the area and moved back home to Williamsburg, VA to attend Dominion School of Hair Design in Gloucester, VA! I went to school during the day and in the evening, worked at Bubbles Hair Salon as a receptionist. After graduation, I went on to work at Salon Vivace to become and assistant to a master hairstylist. I learned and great deal and was ready to get started behind the chair! After hours and hours and years and years of time spent in the salon, continued education, travelling to off-site locations, I am excited to open my own studio! Daryllynn’s Hair Studio is located in Sola Salons in Williamsburg, VA! Offering a verity of services, including smoothing services with Brazilian Blowout, color, highlights, balayage with Oligo Professional, cutting, styling and airbrush makeup!
