Despina Fokianos | D x MK Hair Studio
My hair journey started when I was a little girl. I used my cousins as pracrice dolls, and I wouldnt leave them a lone till the hair looked perfect. I even would spend hours on my own hair till I got it looking just right. My poor parents and Grandparents would yell at me to get out of the bathroom and leave my hair alone. But that was the inner perfectionist in me. I’ve been a licensed Cosmetologist for 10 years. I graduates from the Robert Paul Academy of Cosmetology in 2010. My 1st job out of Cosmetology school was Bubbles in White Marsh on The Avenue. There I got to work with some wonderful and Creative people. its where I first learned about the popular and trending technique Balayage. With the company I was able to continue my education and accumulate certifications in classes like Precision Haircuts for men and women at the Grahm Webb Academy in Roslyn, Virginia. My second venture was at one of Baltimore’s Best Uno Salon in Green Spring Station. There I got to work with Unal and his wife Cheta and they Taught me The art of an Amazing Blowdry. Using round brushes as Velcro like rollers to set the hair to create a voluminous blowdry style that had so much bounce and movement. my 3rd and 4th salon I really got to hone in on working more with color and perfecting formulations. I got to work with great color artist in the salon as well as educators the salon would bring to us. I’ve been very fortunate to have these experiences and Im grateful to be able to share my knowledge with my clients. I still continue my education as much as I can especially during this crazy time. My fist class of 2021 will be a certification class in Hand Tied Weft Extensions from Hair Talk. I can not wait to bring this new service into my salon and offer more variety to my clients.
