Muti Hair Design Studio is now open for business in Sola Salon Suites.  In a prime location, boasting 180 degrees of natural lighting, master stylists Stephen Mendelson and Dee Lescault, provide personal service in a comfortable, private setting.

Stephen Mendelson hails from Johannesburg, South Africa. After leaving the army, he traveled Europe working for Vidal Sassoon in Berlin and then again in London and for Vogue Magazine as an on-set stylist in Paris. After moving to New York City, Stephen worked with partner Michael Gordon at Bumble and bumble for five years. He then moved to California to join the Carlton Hair International artistic and mentoring teams, in time advancing to art director.  Eventually he met fellow educator, Dee Lescault.

Dee, a native Californian, worked for several prestigious Orange County salons before joining the Carlton Hair International family. A Sassoon trained stylist, Dee also excels in personally designed color techniques featuring Arteasecolors.  Together, Dee and Stephen are a formidable art form.

With a combined 80 plus years in hairdressing, Stephen Mendelson and partner Dee Lescault noticed a decidedly large gap in hair care products. Shampoos are either harsh enough to strip the hair to the point of unmanageability, or are so loaded up with extraneous ingredients that the hair becomes heavy and flat.  Conditioners either did nothing or coated the hair with heavy and mostly unnecessary oils.  Unless the scalp displayed signs of itching or flaking, it was pretty much ignored.
