Kristen began her beauty industry career in 2010 as a Salon Coordinator for Fusion Aveda Salon and Spa in Panama City Beach, FL. In 2012, a move to Washington D.C. enabled her to pursue a cosmetology license at the Aveda Institute. Kristen then apprenticed under several Aveda Purefessionals at Jouvence Spa-Salon, in Arlington, Virginia—where she mastered personalized, holistic hair care—following this up with time as an Aveda stylist at Milan The Style Shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan, before an eventual move to Hair Habitat in the Franklin Square Neighborhood of Syracuse, New York in 2018.
Since then, Kristen has expanded her brand experience to include Oway—a naturally derived Italian beauty brand that prides itself on biodynamic farming practices, organic ingredients, and ammonia-free haircolor—, and Original Mineral—an Australian beauty brand that utilizes the benefits of desert plants in its products to provide optimal hydration, while also providing the most hypo-allergenic hair color available on the market today—. Both brands adhere to Kristen's personal code of using products that are ethically sourced, cruelty free, organic, sustainable, and above all, healthy for her clients and the environment.
Knowing that she uses only the best and healthiest products available is essential to Kristen's approach with her clients. Building trust, understanding, and sharing knowledge have always been her primary goals when starting a new client relationship. Now the owner-operator of Tribe Holistic Hair Studio, she strives to create a collaboration with her clients to develop a style that not only best-accentuates each client’s features, but also fits their lifestyle and daily haircare routines.

“I desperately needed a haircut and wound up here on a whim (and other reviews) and I was not disappointed. It was like Kristen knew me and my hair my whole life. She understood my hair’s texture better than I do, and I deal with it everyday! The cut was fabulous – she helped shape it to my face, length and hair type. And she was very accommodating to make sure I was satisfied – constantly asking about small details in the style that I’ve never thought about. All the products smell delicious too!
