Rita Peters | Rita's Healing Arts Massage Studio
Describing me
I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years and I love what I do. Ever since I received my first massage, it was the first time I felt so calm and so amazing. My muscles felt this whole new way of being. I thought, WOW, someone can use their hands to make someone feel better as doctors use tools to fix people. To be able to massage and use my ‘healing energy’ hands is a gift that I am grateful for. It’s an honor to do what I do and when a client entrusts me with being on my table, it’s an honor to allow me to use my expertise. My experiences in massage therapy over the years has propelled me to be my best self. In my opinion, giving AND receiving a massage is transformative. I tend to use movement and massage as a way of lengthening the muscles I’m working on AND maintaining the pressure necessary to get into the muscle fibers.
It’s the art of healing. It’s an art because painful areas can feel like a pulse to me and I can sense what muscles need. In order to get into a relaxed state, I would like the client to focus on their breathing and trust their body knows how to relax, if you allow it. It’s a practice so don’t be discouraged. There’s a process that we must go through- internally and externally and we’re on this journey together. Our body is the vessel that absorbs our day to day experiences and in order to keep going, we tend to push our limits. This translates into overusing muscles and shortening muscle fibers to the point of pain, strain and tension. Not to mention the mental stress and anxiety we deal with every day, our body remembers. Massage therapy is so important to maintain a sense of well being and promote good health. I want to create an atmosphere that will transform you immediately upon walking through the door. Let your senses take over and leave your worries at the door. Book now to experience a rejuvenation of life.
