Vanessa became a licensed cosmetologist in 2005, gaining experience and learning haircare techniques, she went on to open her own salon, V.Rich & Co. in 2010. Still perfecting her craft and learning to teach along the way, Vanessa became a licensed cosmetology instructor in 2014. She was then offered a position as a senior cosmetology instructor at her al mater Carousel Spa & Institute. In September 2015, she was invited to be a special guest hair stylist by Nita NYC's CEO, Ashley T. Head to work on their hair team during the NYC fashion week Spring and Summer 2016 show. Vanessa then went on to work the JD Collection by Rashard Gentle. Zerlene Rogers enlisted Vanessa's expertise styling in "This Thing called Hair Cut" party in October of 2015. Still maintaining her salon, V. Rich & Co. and top notch haircare, Vanessa was then accepted into the Sam McKnight Hair Mastered program. Later in November 2015, Vanessa took the lead once again in her photo shoot with KliqStudios with the help of Carissa Lancaster as the photographer; Steve Brokaw of M10 Studios and models CoCo Lennon of Ford Model Company and Annie Richey of Mother Model.

Vanessa continues to work Runway Show in NYC Fashion (Style Fashion Week)(Couture Fashion Week) when time permits .
Vanessa‘s Lastest Accomplishment worked on the featured Film Blue as Hair Department Head this venture catapulted vanessa Into the Ohio film industry..
